Ireland’s first cashless coffee shop opens in Dublin

Bear Market Coffee is Ireland’s first cashless coffee shop, according to their owners, husband and wife team Stephen and Ruth Deasy.

Located on George Street, Bear Market Coffee is a busy spot at peak times. The rationale for moving to a cashless environments is that it will foster communication between baristas and customers, and promote sales of additional items such as cakes and pastries as staff won’t be so busy counting coins for change.

Mrs. Deasy said that she got the idea after visiting a similar outlet in New York.
