The Irish Coast Guard have issued a warning to the general public to be extra careful near the coast or cliffs this Christmas.
The comes as many people will be engaging in outdoor activities along the coastline, where conditions can become hazardous practically to those exposed near coasts, cliffs, piers, harbour walls, beaches, promenades or other coastal areas.
The warning also carries extra significance this year as weather conditions are expected to be rough with storms Barbara and Conor scheduled to hit Irish shores over the coming days.
The coast say people should call 112 immediately if they see anyone in distress.
