Irish families “face choice” between heating home and feeding children as government focus on housing Ukrainian refugees

Countless Irish families face deciding between heating their homes and feeding their children this winter as the government continue to dedicate resources and efforts to importing and housing as many refugees from Ukraine and elsewhere as possible.

The country now faces the real possibility of fuel rationing and blackouts, with petrol and diesel prices predicted to rise above €2 per litre once again and food prices also continue to rise dramatically.

Homelessness continues to reach new records levels, while the housing and renting crisis’ are at unprecedented levels.

Despite these unprecedented and rapidly worsening situations facing Irish citizens the government continues to focus its efforts towards planting tens of thousands of Ukrainian asylum seekers in the country as a sever shortage of critical services also takes hold across Ireland.

The government’s solution to these tragic problems facing Irish families is once again ask them to volunteer to house Ukrainian refugees while also struggling to accommodate and care for increasing numbers of refugees coming from other parts of the world such as Somalia.
