Irish Government considering an increased ‘living wage’ of €12.30 per hour

The lowest paid workers in society may be seeing their wages increased as a result of an initiative to see a new “living wage” installed.

The Irish Government is considering the introduction of a ‘living wage’ to replace the minimum wage.

If this comes to pass, the low-paid workers would be paid €12.30 per hour, rather than the current minimum wage of €10.10.

The Government is also said to be considering ‘better’ terms for contracts and job security.
