
There was some great news for Irish history and culture this afternoon as the Little Museum of Dublin was given a prestigious honour by winning a major European award.
The infamous museum in St Stephens Green scooped Europe’s top prize for cultural heritage, the Europa Nostra Award – in the category of Education, Training and Awareness Raising. The historic museum which has held many of tours, was this year’s only Irish winner.
The museum which tells the history of Dublin, said they were privileged to win the award, with a spokesperson saying: “our famous guided tours reveal the history of a city that has undergone remarkable changes in the last 100 years, from the visit of Queen Victoria to the global success of U2”.
