Sad news this morning, as Limerick jockey John Thomas McNamara has passed away, aged 41.
Mr. McNamara sustained a serious injury during a fall at Cheltenham in 2013, and was paralysed from the neck down.
There were complications to his condition on Friday night last, and it is understood that he was discharged to spend his last few hours with his family.
McNamara had amassed over 600 career victories, and was a four-time Cheltenham Festival winner.
He is survived by his wife Caroline and three children.
