The phrase “Irish Live Matter” is apparently racist according to Labour Party TD Aodhán Ó Ríordáin.

The veteran Labour politician shared a picture on Twitter of a msn holding a sign proclaiming “Irish Lives Matter” and stated “‘Respectable’ businessman by day. Promoter of racist slogans by night. Shop around folks.”

The former Minister for State did not elaborate as to why he considers the slogan “Irish Lives Matter” is racist.

The Labour Party has remained mostly silent on the growing grass roots protests against migrant plantations across the country but members and supporters of the party have openly condemned this urban and rural working class resistance as racist.
