Irish products hit by new tariffs amidst US-EU trade war

A number of Irish-made products have been hit by new tariffs amidst an ongoing trade war between the United States and the European Union.

Irish butter, cheese, some popular liqueurs like Bailey’s, and pork products are among the worst affected.

The latest trade dispute was sparked by the EU’s subsidies to aircraft manufacturer Airbus, which the US opposes on the basis that it negatively impacts on its own aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
