Irish public debt third highest in the developed world, with every man, woman, and child in Ireland owing over €42,000

It has emerged today that Irish public debt is the third highest in the developed world.

The debt totals €201 billion, which means that every single person residing in the State is saddled with over €42,000.

The interest alone on the total debt reaches €5.8.
