Irish Rail has announced a €5.2m expenditure to combat anti-social behavior across its network.
Up to 20 security teams have been deployed on board trains and around stations in the country following an upsurge in violent incidents.
Statistics show that there were 2,300 instances of anti-social behavior in the 12 months up to June of this year.
