Irish Rail services resume after being suspended due to ‘tragic incident’ in Dublin

Many Irish rail services were suspended after a “tragic incident” in Dublin, reports The Mirror.

No trains ran for a time through Clongriffin station and Irish Rail says: “Due to an incident on the line at Clongriffin. Services are currently operating to/from Howth Junction/Howth. No services are operating through this station until further notice. Northern commuter services will operate from/to Malahide station,” reports The Mirror.

Services are expected to resume at Clongriffin station soon, but passengers are being warned of delays.

Irish Rail added: “Services are expected to resume through Clongriffin station shortly. Services will operate with delays as a result of the stoppage and as staff work to return to normal timetabled operation,” reports The Mirror.

During this time, Dublin Bus were accepting rail tickets.

The train service between Dublin and Belfast is facing disruptions. The transport company, Translink Enterprise, has confirmed the same, saying: “Due to a tragic incident, please allow for delays/disruption to trains on the Dublin line today. There will be knock-on delays for the 07:35 from Dublin and the 06:50 from Lanyon Place,'” reports The Mirror.
