Irish shoppers who are currently in possession Debenhams Gift Cards are being advised to use them sooner rather than later following the announcement that the UK branch of the popular store is set to enter administration.
Although it is believed that the threat of administration in the UK will not affect Irish stores, consumers are being advised to use their cards rather than risk losing out.
According to The Irish Daily Mail, the Consumers’ Association of Ireland say that consumers should use their cards without delay.
The advice comes after the UK branch was placed into administration earlier this week after it was revealed the chain had spiralling debts and costs.
However it is understood the problems in the UK will not affect the 11 stores in the Republic of Ireland as they are operated by a different group.
