After a week of mass uncertainty, the question of Irish Water’s future hangs in the balance this weekend.
With the inefficiency of all parties to even contemplate forming a proper government, Irish Water’s database of paying customers has allegedly dropped by a staggering 65% this week.
This happened after Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney said FG are going to look again at water charges and see what the y can do.
Following this to try and garner public support, Micheal Martin said that Fianna Fail would push water charges down the road a number of years. This in itself was backtracked somewhat by Fianna Fail later in the week.
The only thing that is sure is that Irish Water’s call centre came to a complete standstill as thousands of people who’ve already paid the immoral tax canceled their direct debit as a result of all the politicing.
It’s looking more and more likely that Irish Water will soon be a thing of the past.
