Irish Water issues boil water notice for some 65,000 people across parts of Dublin and Wicklow




Irish Water has just issued a boil water notice for some 65,000 residents across parts of Dublin and Wicklow, due to a failure at a water treatment plant.

The HSE prompted Irish Water to issue the notice after a mechanical breakdown in a chlorine booster device fitted in Vartry Water Treatment Plant.

The notice covers the following areas:

Ashford, Newcastle including Newcastle Hospital., Newtownmountkennedy, Kilcoole, Kilquade, Kilpedder, Kilmacanogue (including Glenview Hotel/Kilmurray Cottages), Greystones, Cookstown Road, Fassaroe/Berryfield Lane, Kilcroney, Delgany, Bray, Killiskey, Nuns Cross, Coynes Cross, Prospect, Mount John, Timmore Lane, Dunran, Corke Abbey, Woodbrook Glen, Old Connaught Avenue, Thornhill Road, Ballyman Road, Ferndale Road (from its junction with Old Connaught Avenue to Allies River Road), the Dublin Road (from the junction of Old Connaught Avenue to Allies River Road), and all areas off these roads.
