A meteorological specialist advises people to monitor models as greater certainty builds in the prediction, suggesting that a storm might affect Ireland this weekend, reports The Mirror.
Conditions are predicted to continue to change over the next several days, with heavy rain still possible throughout the week, following a rather wet Tuesday for many locations, with weather warnings issued for various counties.
Although there is still some uncertainty in the prediction, weather models indicate that high winds will arrive from the west coast on Sunday, perhaps bringing with them the advent of a storm, reports The Mirror.

Alan O’Reilly, an Irish weather specialist who runs the always dependable @CarlowWeather account on X, previously Twitter, plans to closely monitor emerging models before the weekend.
He posted: “Still uncertainty around Saturday night and Sunday with risk of storm but some models have it rather deep off to the West coast and bringing strong winds to Ireland, some don’t develop it as much. Certainly one to watch over next few days,” reports The Mirror.
Although there will be sporadic showers in the northeast clearing and other locations today, Wednesday, October 16, there may be significant downpours in the afternoon due to the moderate temperatures, which are expected to reach 18 degrees Celsius.
There will be some sunny intervals tomorrow, but there will also be sporadic showers that move northeast during the afternoon. Some of these showers may get heavy, and there may even be isolated thunderstorms, reports The Mirror.
As the rain moves eastward throughout the nation, it might become heavy or even thundery in some places, making Friday a wet and windy day. Brighter periods and sporadic showers will persist until the evening in the west.
