After a very bad accident at a friend’s wedding, a female Irish vacationer is in a burn unit at a specialised hospital in Spain, reports Breaking News.
The 29-year-old woman was in the toilet when her clothing caught fire on decorative candles, engulfing her in flames and leaving her “seriously injured.”
When other visitors discovered her semi-conscious in a vacation rental flat in the eastern Costa del Sol town of Nerja, they called 999.
She was first brought to a hospital in the neighbouring city of Malaga, where it is believed that she had an emergency procedure, and then she was sent to the burn unit at Virgen del Rocio University Hospital in Seville, reports Breaking News.
Just before midnight on Thursday, after an Irish couple’s wedding party at vacation rentals in Nerja’s well-known Balcon de Europa viewpoint region, the alarm is reported to have gone off.
According to reports, the couple had an after-party beneath the terrace where they had previously exchanged vows.
According to local reports, the injured woman is 29 years old. It is said that she had severe burns on her torso and legs, reports Breaking News.
The local press was informed by medical staff at the burns unit where she is presently receiving treatment that they are unable to anticipate her future course at this time and that her prognosis “remains uncertain.”
The event is being handled as though it were a terrible mishap. This evening, it was unclear right away if the police are a part of the continuing inquiry, reports Breaking News.
