It may be the world’s biggest social media website and the forefront of everything new going on in your life, but it now seems that bosses over at Facebook are saying that phrases such as “haha” and emoji are in, and age old adjective of “lol” is now officially out.

The news comes as boffins over at Facebook conducted a survey over the past few months which focused on how its users conveys laughter. The survey revealed that those who used the age old “lol” are significantly older than their counterparts who use “haha” and “hehe”. However the laughter doesn’t stop there, as Facebook now suggest that people should now use an emoji to convey their humorous side.

According to the survey “Haha” was the most popular choice, with more than half of all laughs, while emojis accounted for a third. The survey also found that “lol” the worlds most popular acronym for laugh out loud is no longer considered the norm. Facebook say that only a lowly 1.9% of users are using “lol.”

What do you think? Will you continue to “lol” or will you keep up with the current trend of “Haha”, or will you use emoji’s 🙂
