Israel’s Minister for Education has said that Jewish intermarriage with people of different races and religions in the United States is a “second holocaust”.
Rafi Peretz made the statement in a July 1 cabinet meeting that was attended by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the New York Post reports.
The Minister said six million Jews had been “lost” through intermarriage which is likened to the Holocaust. Israel has some of the strictest rules in the world in relation to ethnicity and religion determining the right of a person to become citizen of the country.
This in contrast to the fact that in Europe and the United States Jewish organisations have been some of the leading proponents of open borders and mass migration from the Third World.
Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly signalled his agreement with the Orthodox Rabbi Peretz voicing his concerns about US Jews straying from their origins.
