The number of dead in the devastating Italy quake has risen to 159, according to official figures. Yet, the figure could reach much higher, as search teams comb through the rubble looking for people who may be trapped under it.
Several towns and hamlets have been severely damaged, and the town of Amatrice, near the epicentre, is said to have vanished from existence.
Italy’s Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is thought to be in the disaster area, and has pledged that “No family, no city, no hamlet will be left behind.”
