Authorities in Japan have confirmed that at least 35 people have been killed following landslides in the North of the country.
The Japanese Government say the deaths have occurred in the small town Atsuma and nine people have to be accounted for.
The devastating landslides have the result of 6.6 magnitude earthquake which struck the region on Thursday.
Local officials say dozens of homes have been destroyed following both the earthquake and the landslides which have occurred over the last 48 hours.
They also say at least 400 people have been injured as a result of the earthquake and that power supplies to the region had been damaged.
