The Taikichi restaurant on O’Connell St., Limerick, suffered extensive damage due to an overnight fire.
The alert was raised at around 3.30am, and three units of the fire service responded to the call. When the firefighters reached the site, flames could be seen coming out of the windows.
Ten people were evauated from the apartments above the restaurant as a precaution. The fire was quickly brought under control and nobody was injured in the incident.
