A Japanese transport authority has issued an statement to apologize for the ‘inexcusable’ early departure of one of its trains.
West Japan Railways issued a deep apology to its customers after a train left the station 25 seconds too early.
The incident happened at the Notogawa station in Shiga. The train, which was scheduled to leave at 7.12am, closed its doors at 7.11 and 35 seconds instead, and departed the station.
The driver mistakenly believed that he was due to leave at 7.11am.
Punctuality is a big deal in Japan. The company will reportedly be reviewing its procedures to prevent any such incident from happening again.
