
A total of 511 patients are currently waiting on trolleys in hospitals across Ireland, according to figures released on Thursday by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), reports Breaking News.
Of these, 337 are waiting in emergency departments, while 174 are on trolleys in wards elsewhere in hospitals, reports Breaking News.
University Hospital Galway recorded the highest number of patients without a bed, with 69 people waiting — 47 in the emergency department and 22 elsewhere in the hospital.
At University Hospital Cork, 61 people are without a bed, including 45 waiting in the emergency department, reports Breaking News.
Meanwhile, 60 patients are on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick, with 30 in the emergency department.
