“Jennifer is a disaster” – Over 700 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals




A total of 708 people are currently awaiting hospital beds nationwide, according to the latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), reports Breaking News.

Of these, 435 patients are waiting in emergency departments, while a further 273 are accommodated in other wards across hospitals, reports Breaking News.

University Hospital Limerick has the highest number of patients on trolleys, with 89 people waiting to be allocated a bed.

This includes 26 people in the emergency department and 63 patients located elsewhere in the hospital, reports Breaking News.

At University Hospital Cork, 82 patients are waiting for a bed, with 71 of those in the emergency department.

A further 82 people are also waiting for beds at University Hospital Galway, including 47 patients in the emergency department, reports Breaking News.

Meanwhile, 53 patients are awaiting beds at Letterkenny University Hospital.
