The fallout from the now infamous Jobstown incident continues today, after a large crowd gathered in Dublin earlier to protest against the guilty verdict of a teenager accused of falsely imprisoning Joan Burton and her aide inside her car. Jobstown made national headlines at the time, quickly becoming one of the defining moments of the fight against water charges.

The now 17-year-old teenager received a guilty verdict yesterday, but was spared a criminal conviction on condition of keeping the peace for nine months.

Today’s protest began at 1pm at the Central Bank on Dame Street and then made its way towards the Children’s Court.

The demonstration passed off peacefully.
