Jon Venables has been charged in court with possession of child abuse images. He was returned to court in November last, after indecent images of children were found in his possession for a second time.
The trial was held in private in an undisclosed location.
Both himself and his then school friend Robert Thompson served eight years in prison in connection with the brutal killing of James Bulger in 1993. They were both granted lifelong anonymity after being released from prison.
Venables is now likely to be returned to prison to serve a lengthy sentence.
