Jozef Puska claims to be confident that he’ll be back on streets by summer despite conviction for Ashling Murphy murder

Jozef Puska, an evil assassin, is certain that his conviction for the murder of teacher Ashling Murphy will be overturned and that he will soon be back on the streets, reports The Mirror.

At Midlands Prison, where he is serving a life term, he has been telling other prisoners that he didn’t do it and that he would win his next appeal.

This Sunday marks the third anniversary of Ashling’s passing, and in her hometown of Tullamore, County Offaly, where she was killed in a crime that rocked the country, a memorial walk will be held in her memory along the Grand Canal, reports The Mirror.

The three-judge Dublin court of appeal is scheduled to hear Puska’s case in the coming months.

The 36-year-old Slovakian and his defence team will contend that trial judge Tony Hunt should not have allowed the confession he gave to the Gardai when he was in the hospital two days after killing Ashling, 23, to be shown to the jury, reports The Mirror.

While recuperating from self-inflicted stab wounds at St James Hospital, Puska declared to the Garda officers, “I am the murderer.” Additionally, he expressed sadness and grief for Ashling’s passing.

Even though the post-mortem results were not yet publicly available, he later claimed he didn’t recall saying any of it or that he told cops, “I cut her neck,” reports The Mirror.

She died from 12 blunt force injuries to her neck, according to the post-mortem reports.

According to the unemployed father of five’s solicitors, he was under the influence of drugs, had recently undergone surgery, and should never have been interviewed, reports The Mirror.

In addition to having trouble comprehending English, he was using oxycodone medications at the time.

Puska has been promising everyone that he will win his case, according to sources at the Midlands Prison.

A source said: “He is putting all his energy into his appeal and genuinely believes he will be freed and reunited with his family by the summer. He is adamant he didn’t kill Ashling when all the evidence proves otherwise. He claims he never made any confession and has no memory of it because he was out of it on drugs. He is a real Walter Mitty who makes up stories as he goes along,” reports The Mirror.
