Junior Minister calls on the Government to increase the national minimum wage to €11.50 per hour

The new Junior Minister for Jobs John Halligan has said he would like to see the minimum wage increased to €11.50 per hour.

Mr Halligan made his comments over the weekend in which he said he wants to see the hourly minimum wage increased by 25% over the next two years.

Mr Halligan’s radical proposal will most likely be met with a stern response from the Government who currently plan to increase the minimum wage to €10.50 over the next five years.
