Justice Minister says new law for mandatory quarantine is 3 to 4 weeks away




The Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has said that the new laws for mandatory quarantine is 3 to 4 weeks away.

Speaking to RTE, McEntee said the new legislation is yet to go through the Dail but once it is reviewed by the opposition it is expected to pass through the Seanad next week.

The Justice Minister added that it woul be two weeks before the legislation is enacted and then a further two weeks for quarantine hotels to be set up.

It is understood that the new legislation will apply to travellers from 20 countries.
