The boxer got through the final of the European Games in Baku after a tense and tough match against Yana Alekseevna in the women’s lightweight semi-finals.
Alekseevna put up a good fight, winning the first round. Katie took the second round with a very solid performance, and but her opponent won the third round after a somewhat controversial decision by the judges.
However, the Irishwoman did dominate the fourth and last round, and earned herself a place in the finals.
