An 11-year-old boy in the US State of North Carolina has been compared to the iconic Kevin McCalister afrer he fought off an intruder inside his home.
In a story reminiscent of the much loved movie Home Alone, Braydon Smith remarkably fought off the intruder after being left home alone.
According to ABC 11, Braydon from Mebane, fought off the intruder 19-year-old Jataveon Dashawn Hall, with a machete after he broke into his home.
In an in-depth interview Braydon told the broadcaster that he just instinctively reacted to Hall after he threatened him with an unloaded pellet gun.
The brave 11-year-old who has been compared the iconic character played by Macaulay Culkin, spoke of how the incident occurred whilst he was talking on the phone to his mother.
Braydon told the broadcaster that he decided to grab the machete after Hall went into the other room to look for his phone in an effort to prevent him from making a phone call.
However the young boy who knew the gun wasn’t loaded said that he hit Hall on the back of the head after he ordered him to go into the closet.
Braydon who said he was shocked by the incident, revealed that he just decided to react and hit Hall in self defence, before telling him that he shouldn’t have broken in and that he would be better off getting a job, rather than breaking into people’s houses.
Following the incident, Hall who received treatment for minor injuries in hospital has since been charged with breaking and entering, second degree kidnapping, interfering with emergency communications, as well as the assault of a child under the age of 12.
