Killiney could soon be without a bus service after Dublin Bus revealed plans to cut routes

According to reports it is understood that the Killiney area in Dublin could soon be without a bus service after Dublin Bus have revealed plans to scrap the 59 route in the coming months.

The news comes after Dublin Bus had proposed a number of cuts to bus routes around the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area at a Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown council meeting last week. Under the new proposals the number 7, 8, and 59 will no longer run a service in the areas of Dún Laoghaire, Sallynoggin and Loughlinstown.

Local councillor Melissa Halpin has said the number 7 route, from the city centre to Loughlinstown, would bypass Sallynoggin to go down the Sally Glen road.

Meanwhile a change to the number 59 route would leave Killiney without any bus service as the proposal does not include the village as part of its route.
