King Charles III will pay an official state visit to Ireland in early June, we can reveal.

Discussions have started with the Government about his timeline and where he will go with Queen Camilla.

It is understood Gardaí have been informed to prepare for their arrival and many members will have to work overtime to cover the visit in the first or second week of June, reports The Mirror.

The safety campaign will not be as big as President Joe Biden’s visit last week, but will still be considered “substantial.”

“Both the British Embassy in Dublin and Buckingham Palace are heavily involved in making the arrangements,” reports The Mirror.

Charles is due to be crowned at Westminster Abbey next May 6th and the coronation will be televised live around the world. Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and speaker Michael D. Higgins will attend the ceremony.

Government sources said King Charles has always received a warm welcome and enjoyed his time in the Republic whenever he visited.

A government insider said: “The planning for the visit is now underway and will be finalised in the coming weeks. The Gardai have been fully informed,” reports The Mirror.

A Garda source said: “We understand that the new King will be here either on the first or second week in June. We don’t know how long he will be here for yet,” reports The Mirror.

In May 2011, the Queen received a warm welcome across the country when she paid a four-day state visit to Ireland with her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

She visited the Rock of Cashel and the English Market in Cork City, where she did a meet-and-greet walk on the Grand Parade.

But the highlight of her visit was her emotional speech at a state dinner at Dublin Castle, speaking in Irish to the astonishment of then-President Mary McAleese, reports The Mirror.
