Aer Lingus is set to launch a direct service from Dublin Airport to one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations, renowned for its striking white beaches, sparkling turquoise waters, and upscale resorts, reports The Mirror.
The Irish carrier announced today that it will begin its first nonstop flights to Cancún, Mexico, starting in January 2026, with ticket prices beginning at €291 for a one-way trip.
This new service to Cancún from Dublin will operate three times a week using the airline’s A330-300 aircraft, giving Irish travellers a convenient way to experience the sun and rich culture of the Mexican Caribbean, reports The Mirror.
Running between January 6 and April 29, 2026, the direct flights offer a smooth alternative for holidaymakers hoping to escape Ireland’s chilly winter, eliminating the need for time-consuming layovers.
Cancún’s flawless beaches, transparent waters, warm climate, and lush jungle provide an ideal setting for both relaxation and exploration.
Whether you’re looking to unwind in a world-class spa, try your hand at aquatic sports, or enjoy lively nightlife, Cancún delivers for both serenity seekers and thrill-chasers alike, reports The Mirror.
In addition to its coastline and high-end accommodations, Cancún boasts several impressive archaeological sites such as El Rey, Ichkabal, Coba, Kohunlich, El Meco, Chichén Itzá, and Tulum, all offering insight into the country’s storied past.
Food enthusiasts from Ireland will also find delight in Cancún’s rich culinary offerings, which showcase the true taste of Mexico, reports The Mirror.
From flame-grilled meats to tangy and refreshing ceviche, the city offers a feast for the senses that appeals to anyone with a passion for gastronomy.
Travellers can sample specialties like Lobster Pizza, Queso De Bola, crunchy sweet Marquesitas, or freshly prepared Guacamole—creating a dining journey that celebrates the diverse flavours that have won over Irish palates, reports The Mirror.
Families, too, will find plenty of accommodation options, with hotels and resorts designed to suit a range of budgets.
Commenting in the launch of the new route, Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our new direct route from Dublin to CancĂşn introduces a vibrant new destination to our network and further increases Aer Lingus’ winter sun offering,” reports The Mirror.
