Labour Court expected to intervene in an attempt to put an end to the nurses’ action

The Labour Court could potentially intervene in the ongoing nurses strike later today in a bid to avert further strike action.

According to RTE News, the move will come as fears grow that there could be widespread disruption at the nation’s hospitals next week.

However the schedluling of talks could prove fruitless as both the Government and the INMO have refused to budge in terms of an acceptable agreement that would put an end to the current strike action.

It is thought that the interference of the court would provide a chance for both parties to sit down and talk before the scheduled three day strike next week.

Meanwhile the HSE say that thousands more appointments would have to be cancelled in the event of further strike action next week.
