A great number of landmarks around the world will be bathed in blue light tonight to highlight World Autism Awareness Day.

Locally, the National Concert Hall, Kilkenny Castle and the Department of Education will be illuminated with blue lighting to mark the day. The color blue is part of a United Nations’ initiative to promote autism awareness.

Minister of State of State at the Department of Health Kathleen Lynch has said that she hopes “tonight’s events would help to raise awareness of autism among the general public”.
