Facebook has been left red-faced again, after it emerged that the passwords for millions of accounts were stored in unencrypted files, which could potentially have been accessed by company employees at any time.
The social media giant confirmed that the passwords wouldn’t have been visible to anyone outside the company, and that it has found no evidence of improper behavior in relation to the passwords.
According to Facebook, the issue has been ‘rectified’, but there are now renewed concerns about data privacy, and how large corporations store and handle personal data.
