There were almost 600 people waiting for a hospital bed today according to figures.
According to the INMO there 592 people waiting for a bed across country.
Figures show that University Hospital Limerick was the worst hit with 65, whilst University Hospital Galway had 53 people waiting.
Cork University Hospital came third on the list with 50.
