According to latest figures published the CSO the monthly unemployment rate has fallen yet again, to 7.2% for the month of December.
The latest report shows there were 157,700 people out of work in December, which marked a decrease of 0.1% from November.
The latest figures also mark the lowest unemployment rate since the economic downturn. It is believed the creation of temporary positions over the pre-Christmas period was a significant contributor to the fall.
