It’s beginning to look like they’re laughing their heads off at us and they’re not even trying to hide it anymore. Many on social media say that they’re getting sick and tired of being dictated to and their lives behind mishandled by the likes of massively overpaid civil servants.
The Health Service Executive (HSE) boss Paul Reid’s snout is wedged deep in the trough, as he reportedly claimed a €20k car allowance in 2020 despite enjoying a personal chauffeur.
According to the Irish Mirror, Mr. Reid, who enjoys a salary of €426k a year despite the decrepitude of the HSE as a whole, was assigned an army driver to ferry him around in a BMW. Yet, he claimed this massive allowance, which is worth almost a nurse’s entire yearly wages.
Many people are now condemning Mr. Reid’s greed, and say that his position is untenable.
