A lecturer from Trinity College in Dublin has been reported missing while attempting the perilous descent from Mount Everest.
The man, named locally as 39-year-old Seamus Lawless and originally from Bray in Co. Wicklow, had reached the summit on Thursday morning.
Mr. Lawless is part of an 8-man team who were climbing Mount Everest in an effort to raise funds for Barretstown.
It is understood that the man slipped and fell from an altitude of 8,300mts.
