However, no practical details have been revealed as to how or when such plans would be implemented.
Speaking on TV tonight, Mr. Varadkar has said that he would like to focus on securing free GP care for primary school students before extending the programme to all those under the age of 18.
In related news, free GP care for citizens over 70 years of age is due to begin next month.
