A man has been jailed in the UK for killing his two-year-old son in what was described in Court as an act of “revenge and jealousy” against his former partner when she started a new relationship.
According to the Daily Mail, 41-year-old Lukasz Czapla killed his little son Julius by shooting him in the head with a BB gun, stabbing him and smothering him with a pillow.
Julius’ mother Patrycja Szczesniak told the Court that the little boy had completely trusted his father and loved him. She said that she had never stopped her former partner from seeing Julius as she wanted them to stay in contact.
Czapla was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 23 years before there is any chance of parole. The judge described him as “truly evil” and offered members of the jury counselling services, noting that it must have been terribly difficult for them to hear about such horrific injuries being inflicted on a little boy.
