“Let kids be kids” – Angry reaction to Internet Porn and gender ideology to be issues covered as part of Ireland’s Junior Cert curriculum, no schools are exempt

Parents aren’t too happy about the prospect of their child being taught lessons about topics that they don’t want to see covered as part of the school life.

Instead, they’d like to see real world issues that people face on a daily basis being widely covered.

Pornography, gender stereotyping and consent will be subjects covered in the new curriculum for the Ireland’s Junior Cert relationships and sexuality education programme the Irish Independent has reported.

Gender ideology has become pervasive across education systems in the Western world with Miriam Cates, a UK Member of Parliament and former biology teacher, recently warning that the UK’s sex education curriculum is encouraging pupils to self-identify as transgender.

The Department of Education in Ireland now wants to ramp up the inculcation of gender ideology into the minds of impressionable Irish teens.

The Department also noted that the existing approach to such lessons in schools was “heavily concerned with the risks and dangers associated with relationships and sexuality, and did not allow for sufficient discussion of the positive, healthy and enjoyable aspects.”

A source revealed to the Irish Independent: “Every school irrespective of ethos, will have to deliver it” and a draft course for all pupils on sex education is expected to be published Monday by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA).

The new courses for RSE (Relationship and Sexuality Education) and SPHE (Social, Personal, Health Education) will reportedly involve “new material on a range of issues, including consent, safe use of the internet, pornography, gender identity and sexual orientation, health and positive relationships, and addiction issues.” According to the Irish Independent’s source.
