The Sinn Féin party have nominated Liadh Ní Riada tó contest the next Presidential election.
Ms Ní Riada who is delighted to be contesting the next election said she is looking forward to the race which will highlight how much the country has changed over the past seven years.
She also said the race will also provide insight on on how the next seven years should be approached when it comes to carrying out the duties in the highest office in the land.
Ms Ní Riada now joins current President Michael D Higgins, Senator Joan Freeman, and businessmen Sean Gallagher and Gavin Duffy in the race for the Aras.
