The little child who suffered severe injuries in November of last year after a knife assault in Dublin’s city centre has been released from the hospital, reports RTE.

The kid’s family posted an update on a fundraising website created following the attack on November 23. The page stated that the youngster, having spent 281 days in the hospital, is now prepared to begin a new phase of her recovery.

It is hoped that she would make more noises and actively move her arms and legs.

The youngster was attacked in Parnell Square, along with three other children and an adult. She was five years old at the time, reports RTE.

“On Friday, August 30, after 281 days, we were discharged from Temple Street Children’s Hospital,” states the most recent post on the GoFundMe page.

“We are starting a new phase in our darling’s recovery today—we refer to it as ‘The Gym.'”

“The hope is that she is able to swallow food, move her arms and legs more purposefully, and utter some more sounds”, reports RTE.

Her family reported last month that she had made it home for a visit for the first time since being admitted to the hospital.

It was also the first time she saw her new area and residence, according to the family, who had moved into an adapted home. It was a significant step towards permanently reuniting with her, reports RTE.
