Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has announced harsher fines for people flouting the 5km rule, particularly if caught on the way to airports.
Mr. Ryan was addressing the issue of people flying off on holidays during the pandemic.
According to the Minister, those caught might face being turned back and fined up to €2,500.
