Lockdown Part 4? Government accused of “sneakily” extending lockdown powers until November behind the public’s back

The government has massively extended their draconian lockdown powers until November at least, with many claiming that they did so in a sneaky fashion behind the public’s back.

The Cabinet have approved proposals to extend lockdown powers until November, which means that fourth lockdown is now possible without the public’s consent.

It’s understood that the Government agreed on the proposals as a failsafe measure with the current legislation set to expire in June, however many see it as a pure power grab and social media users have been commenting that the public should be consulted going forward in relation to further restrictions.

The new regulations now means the Government will have the power to implement lockdowns if Covid-19 cases rise in the coming months.

It is believed that measures were originally expected to extended until September, however the Government agreed that a failsafe be chosen.

What do you think? Was it a sneaky move?
