London Rail company apologise to “non-binary” people after conductor uses term “ladies and gentlemen”

The London North Eastern Railway has issued a public apology after one its conductors welcomed passengers with the words:
“Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls”.

In what can only be described as a chronic case of attention seeking one so-called “non-binary” person took to Twitter to express their shock and dismay with passenger Laurence Coles, writing: “’Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…’ so as a non-binary person this announcement doesn’t actually apply to me, so I won’t listen.”

However, is a cringe worthy attempt at pandering London North Eastern Railway responded to the scurrilous complaint, saying its train managers should not be using “language like this” and apologising for the lack of inclusion.

They train company went on to say:

“We’ve been working very hard with educating our people on why gender specific pronouns are not suitable in instances like these, and we’re sorry to see this has not been applied here.
“It is entirely valid for someone who does not identify with the terms used to feel excluded and as a business we do not accept that anyone should feel excluded.”
