A syndicate of 13 women from Inishowen won last night’s almost €5 million lotto jackpot. The women work for Forward Express in Malin Head, and they were out celebrating in style this morning by drinking tea!
They got phoned last night to discover they had won just over €375,000 each! what a nice way to go to sleep, eh?
They women were on Highland Radio this morning to talk about their incredible win.
Amanda McFadden said:
“We got a phone call and a text – the phone has been going since 12 o’clock last night.”
“€375,000 each – but we’ll have to split it.”
Amanda initally thought it was actually a joke when she received the text, but a picture sent on WhatsApp assured her of the win.
“One of the girls sent me a picture of the ticket and I was like ‘that can’t be’.”
“I still didn’t believe it this morning, so.”
The 13th member of the winning team is on holiday in Tenerife but is on her way home to claim the prize.
The girls now hope to get tickets for Donegal vs Kerry in the football final, wonder can they afford the tickets? Well done ladies!
